Desmond Motors Winter League Series Round 6

Team 11 has emerged as the new leaders of the Desmond Motors sponsored Winter League Series as the competition moved into the second half of the 10 round qualifying event.

As the teams have played their sixth round cards and with only two more full rounds counting before the teams have to drop their lowest scores in the best eight from ten rounds counting format, the pairing of Ciaran O’ Doherty and Gary Jackson having returned a fine score of 45 points in round six for an accumulated six round total of 255 points and lead by two points from second placed Team 28, David Wilson and Brendan Gallagher, who moved up from fourth place with the best score returned in round six- an excellent 46 points for an accumulated six round total of 253 points.

In the Ladies section of the league, Team 2, consisting of Lady Captain Florence Rankin, Lorna Thompson and Myra Gough having returned an excellent score of 51 points in round six for an accumulated six round total of 271 points, now hold a commanding 21 points lead over Team 5, Monica Smith, Faye Mc Grotty and Janice Doherty who have accumulated 250 points from their six rounds.
