Saturday saw the first of the Clubs 2016 major’s take place when the Members turned out in force to play for the wonderful array of prizes on offer in Mr Rob Gallagher’s Presidents Day.
With the Ballyarnett course presented in immaculate condition and apart from some light rain in the morning everything was in place for good scoring and no less than four 41 point returns with another three 40 point returns making the prize list, with the best of the 41 point returns coming from the very popular Presidents Prize winner John A Lafferty, John is having a memorable season which has resulted in numerous competition wins and in doing so has reduced his handicap by five shots in the past few months, Peter Roddy and Paul Anderson finished Second and third respectively all on 41 points with Caolan Dunn also finishing on 41 points after a level par round to claim the coveted Presidents Juvenile Prize.
