The Annual Christmas Hamper competition took center stage at the weekend with 90 plus competitors taking to the Ballyarnett fairways on a cold and murky day it wasn’t set up for top scoring but 12 handicapper Paddy Mc Cafferty hadn’t read the script as he produced an excellent winning score of 44 points a four point advantage on the large field, Martin Tope returned the best score in the plus to 6 category taking the prize after a 34 points break of tie, Richie Mc Rory was the best of the 7 to 13 handicap player with 40 points, 15 handicapper Dermot Harkin has returned to form and won the 14 to 21 category also with 40 points, Barry Downey returned a good score of 40 points to take the 22 plus category.
