The Annual Total Golf 2 Day Open Stableford took center stage at the weekend with close to 200 cards taken out for this very popular competition which has a magnificent array of prizes on offer with the Men’s winner being rewarded with a custom fit set of irons all thanks to the very generous sponsor.
The competitors play for one of the 12 qualifying places on offer in the final pro – ratio to the entry on both days with 7 qualifying from Saturday A. Jackson, J Mc Fadden, S Mc Clean, S Doherty, J Mc Daid, Jake Hannaway and J Bradley and 5 qualifying on Sunday H Glenn, P Martin, John Hannaway, D Burns, M Mc Eleney turning out for the final on Wednesday evening where they competed for the three main prizes on offer.
Scoring was made more difficult in the final with the competitors have to contend with a strong breeze as three handicapper Shane Mc Clean coped best with the conditions to compile a very good round of two over par from the back tees for his winning score of 37 points and become the proud owner of a new Set of Irons, John Hannaway with 33 points finished runner – up and for his effort won an Electric Trolley , as Martin Mc Eleney with 31 points became the proud owner of a new Driver for finishing third.
