Desmond Motors Winter League Final
2016 Winning Team: Joe Lynch, Declan Mc Kinney, Chris Lynch & Paddy Mc Cafferty
The very successful 2016 Desmond Motors Sponsored Winter League came to a conclusion on Saturday last when the eight qualifying Teams took to the Ballyarnett fairways for the Final, with four team prizes on offer, again with the same format as the qualifying, with the two best scores on each hole counting and Team 15 consisting of Paddy Mc Cafferty, Chris Lynch, Joe Lynch and Declan Mc Kinney who qualified for the final in eight place certainly brought their “A” game to the the final when playing some splendid golf to record an excellent winning score of 96 points to take the coveted 2016 Winter League Title, five points clear of the runners up Team 5, Kevin Mc Dermott, Charles Mc Dermott, Martin Moran and Cormac Mc geady who finished with a fine score of 92 points
Once again the Desmond Motors Winter League now in its 18th year proved a very popular competition and everyone at Foyle are deeply indebted to Desmond Motors for their generous and long term sponsorship of the event, with special thanks going to the Green keeping Staff for the fine condition of the course during the competition, with thanks also to Linda and Conor at the Golf Reception for their courtesy and help.
The Winter League Dinner and Prize Presentation will take place on Friday 13th January 2017 at 8.00pm in Pitchers with all competitors receiving a complimentary meal with partners most welcome to attend for a nominal cost.
