The Qualifying section of the Desmond Motors Winter League came to a conclusion last weekend after ten very competitive rounds with a very close finish deciding the eight Qualifying teams who will contest the Final on Saturday 5th December when the 2015 Winter League Champions will be crowned.
Long time qualifying leaders, Team 14, failed to hold on to top spot as Team 20 consisting of Kieran Doherty, Emmet O’ Kane, Michael Mullin and John O’ Kane came through on their last card to take the leading Qualifiers accolade with an accumulated score of 736 points three points clear of the field and will now go into the final as favorites for the coveted title.
The last two qualifying places in the final proved to be a tightly contested affair with one point separating four teams with Teams 1 & 10 eventually making the final by a slender one point margin.

All the above Qualifying Teams are asked to report on Saturday 5th December at 10.20am with the final set to tee off at 10.30am.
The Ladies Winter League also came to a conclusion at the weekend with Team 2 consisting of Myra Gough, Lorna Thompson and Florence Rankin claiming the coveted title with an accumulated score of 407 points with team 8 Anne Hamilton, Christine Mc Cafferty and Margaret Killen finishing in second place on 402 points.
