Desmond Motors Winter League Series Round 5

The Desmond Motors Winter League Series has now reached the mid point in the qualifying with the teams having played five rounds and with the scoring being of a very high standard so far, 12 points separate the leading eight teams with another 12 teams within nine points of the pack.

It certainly makes for a very competitive second half in the ten round qualifying as the teams strive for one of the 16 places on offer in the play-off for the six main prizes.

Team 23 consisting of John Jennings and Jim Mc Fadden have accumulated 217 points for their five rounds after returning scores of 41, 43, 43, 48 and 42. And they now hold a seven point lead over the chasing pack.

Team 11, Ciaran O’ Doherty and Gary Jackson, are currently in the runner’s up position with an accumulated score of 210 points.

In the Ladies section of the League after five rounds Team 2, consisting of Lady Captain Florence Rankin, Lorna Thompson and Myra Gough, have returned excellent scores of 38, 44, 45, 46 and 47 points for their accumulated five round total of 220 points and they now hold an 18 point advantage over Team 4, Margaret Mc Carron, Agnes Mc Laughlin and Sadie O’ Kane in second place on 202 points from their five rounds.
