Desmond Motors Winter Series Round 1

The 2017 Desmond Motors Winter Series is now underway with close to 40 teams entered to date and with the first round cards returned scoring has been of the highest order.

Team four consisting of Rob Ewing and Declan Ryan lead the way after an excellent score of 47 points but are closely followed by Team 17 of John Coyle and Jim Mc Grotty with another excellent 46 points return.

The league has a changed format this year with the men’s section a Pairs Betterball Stableford event best eight from 10 rounds counting with the Qualifying Rounds running until Sunday, November 26th when the top 16 pairs will qualify for the play – off where six prizes are on offer. There is also a prize for the best round each week.

The Ladies competition is a teams of three 11 hole stableford with the best two scores counting at each hole with best eight from 10 rounds running until Sunday, November 26th.

In the Ladies Section of the League Team 5 Monica Smith, Faye Mc Grotty and Janice Doherty have certainly laid down a marker of their intentions after an excellent 48 points and at this early stage lead by ten points from Teams 1 and 2.
