Foyle Sunday Society Skipper Michael Henry could not have wished for a more positive start to the 2015 /16 Season after an excellent turnout on a fine day with some exceptional scoring and a Hole – In – One on the first outing of the Season.
Martin Tope certainly got the Foyle Sunday Society off to a splendid start with an exceptional round as the five handicapper negotiated the Ballyarnett course in six under par for his exceptional winning score of 47 points, on a day of high scoring Ciaran O’ Doherty finished second with another excellent score of 44 points followed in third by Dermott Harkin with 43 points both score good enough to win on another day.
The highlight of the competition was a Hole – In – One at the par three 13th hole where Sunday Society Treasurer Martin Mc Callion played the perfect shot with a hybrid club to hole out for his ace witnessed by playing partners Martin Mc Eleney, Paul Mc Eleney and James Meehan.
