The Fyfes Motor Factors sponsored Mid Summer Open Stableford attracted a good entry on a fine day and with The Ballyarnett course in pristine condition all was in place for good scoring and 17 handicapper Robert Ewing certainly made use of the favorable conditions to post an excellent winning score of 44 points, four points ahead of runner up John Barrett with the best of the 40 points returns with Adrian Browne finishing in third place after the tie break.
