Saturday’s Joe Lynch U Drive School of Motoring Sponsored Open Stableford had a large entry with the competitors once again enjoying very favourable playing conditions on a course in outstanding condition, and John A Lafferty made full use of the conditions to post a very good winning score of 41 points and in doing so see his handicap reduced to single figures, the inform Jake Hannaway finished runner – up one point adrift on 40 points after a tie break with third placed Christopher Forbes
The outstanding round of the competition was produced by +1 handicapper Damien Mc Kenna who negotiated the Ballyarnett layout from the back tees in 68 shots one over par in the front nine followed by four under par on the back nine to claim yet another Gross Prize.
