The John Fahey & Co. Solicitors Sponsored Open Stableford on Saturday last attracted a very good entry with the competitors enjoying a course in pristine condition with the greens running true and fast making for good scoring and that was certainly backed up with some excellent scores returned as the single handicap golfers dominated the prize list.
Seven handicapper John Spence negotiated the Ballyarnett course in level par from the back tees for an excellent 43 points winning score, with another seven handicapper Stuart Gauld one shot behind as he produced another excellent score of 42 points a score good enough to win on another day to finish second, five handicapper Caolan Dunn finished third after a level par round for his 41 points return.
