Ladies Charity Open

Lady Captain Denise Callan, hosted the Club’s Charity Open last Friday, 23rd May, in aid of her chosen Charity, Foyle Search and Rescue.

The day proved to be successful with over seventy ladies and gentlemen turning out to support the event on a course in fine condition.

Margaret Killen, from Foyle proved that she is back in form when she took top honours returning a fine score of 39 points, one shot clear of runner-up, Barbara McArthur from Roe Park. The gross was won by Lorna Thompson with19 gross points and Elizabeth McMullan from Faughan Valley won the visitors prize with 36 points.

Full results were – 1, Margaret Killen (23) 39 points ; 2, Barbara McArthur (34) Roe Park 38; gross, Lorna Thompson 19;  3, on bot, Sheila McLaughlin (34) 36; visitor, Elizabeth Mullan (29) Faughan Valley 36 ; back nine, Sadioe O’Kane (21) 20; front nine, Mary McArthur (19) Redcastle;  longest drive, Geraldine Crossan; nearest the pin, Jennifer Lapsley.

Men’s competition – 1, Emmett Hutton (12)  42 points ; 2, Declan Hutton  (19)  39; gross, Shane McClean  35; 3, John Spence (6) 38;  back nine, Damian Kivelehan (9) 23 .

 

Meanwhile winner of the ladies 11 hole competition played on Thursday, 22nd May was Roberta Moore, scoring 21 points on a break of tie. Recent 20’s No. 268 was Sadie O’Kane with 25 points.
