Foyle Ladies Captain Ann McWilliams hosted a highly successful Charity Open last Friday sponsored by River Ridge Recycling, in aid of her chosen charity, Derry Well Women.
The day proved to be highly successful with 102 ladies and gents turning out to support the event on a course in fine condition. The day was made extra exciting for those competing with a “Hole in One” car prize on the 8th, kindly sponsored by Browne and Day.
Loren Smallwoods, from City of Derry, took top honours playing in difficult conditions, the 14 handicapper returned a great score of 43 points securing a six shot cushion on her nearest rival Denise Callan. Deborah McElhinney from Buncrana won the gross prize with 20 points whilst the visitor’s prize went to Rosie Agnew from Redcastle with 35 points.
The day was rounded off with a Gala Diner in Pitchers Wine Bar which included an auction and raffle. The successful day raised an amazing £6400 for Derry Well Women. The Lady Captain extended her sincere to competition sponsors River Ridge Recycling, Browne and Day, those that sponsored individual holes, gave donations or helped in any way to make the event such a great success.
