The much anticipated and planned Charity open for NICC took off on Friday with the first competitors teeing off before 8am and last players coming in at 9.30pm!!
It has to be said that we had a very successful day in terms of money raised for the charity; a total amount has yet to be finalised but it seems that a fantastic figure well in excess of 3,500.00 has been raised for this deserving charity.
Congratulations to Lady Captain and everyone who helped in any way!
A total of 153 players turned out to support our first Open since lockdown and under the new Golf Ireland Handicap system.
Old faithful, Lorna, brought in a huge 40 points to take top prize with young Hannah close behind on 38 and Denise in 3rd spot with 37. The home members obviously handled their own course very well indeed. Some very complimentary comments were heard from visitors on the excellent condition of Foyle – big shout out to the green staff for that!
The gross, back 9, and longest drive prizes all went to visiting ladies while our own Celine Duffy got the front 9 – well done Celine
