The New Year Stableford was very well supported with the large turnout enjoying a fine day after the early frost had cleared this with the benign conditions made for good scoring and Charles Mc Dermott certainly got his 2017 golfing year off to the perfect start when returning an excellent winning score of 42 points, Gary Jackson finished second after a three way 41 points break of tie virtue of his superior 23 points on the back nine, with John Hannaway securing third place again his 22 points on the back nine got him the verdict over his playing partner Mark Mc Intyre who finished out of the prizes.
