The mid point in the Pat Kirk Ltd Winter League Qualifying section has been reached with the Teams having returned their fifth round cards and scoring has been of the highest order as the teams continue to push for one of the 16 places on offer in the final.
Team 16, David Wilson & Brendan Gallagher continue to lead the qualifying with an accumulated five round total of 222 points,
Team 25, Cyril Ming & Dermott Harkin who for the second round in succession returned the best score a fine 44 points for an accumulated total of 216 points therefore reducing the leaders advantage to six points with three full counting rounds still to play,
Team 5, Michael Coyle & Gary Mc Elroy with 211 points currently sit in third spot.

In the Ladies Section of the League after round four Team 1, Lorna Thompson, Florence Rankin and Myra Gough have now taken over as leaders after returning a fine score of 49 points for an accumulated four round total of 197 points, with the early leaders Team 2, Agnes Mc Laughlin, Faye Mc Grotty and Monica Smith having accumulated 196 points trail the leaders by a slender one point margin at this early stage of the league.
