The Annual Pauls Butchers Sponsored Club Classic took center stage at the weekend with the competition having a very good entry as the competitors enjoyed very favorable playing conditions on a course in pristine condition and scoring in the teams of four format with two scores to counting at each hole with all four scores counting at two secret holes one on each nine was of the highest order.
The team of Chris Forbes, Kevin Henderson, Dane Mc Cafferty and Steven Kivelehan made full use of the conditions to post an excellent winning score of 104 points, four points clear of the field as the strong and experienced team of Cyril Ming, Dermott Harkin, John Jennings and Ciaran Mc Guinness finished runner’s – up with another fine score of 101 points. John Lafferty, Mark Duddy, Conor O’ Doherty and Andy Mc Keever finished third after a tie break virtue of their superior back nine.
The Ladies winners, Lorna Thompson, Myra Gough, Florence Rankin and Christine Mc Cafferty pushed the men all the way finishing with a very credible score of 96 points.
