Thirteen is unlucky for some and it certainly came true for Team 14 Mark Doherty, Ciaran O’ Doherty, Michael Henry and Dermott Harkin when Team 13 Gary Jackson, Eddie Mc Dermott, Gary Mc Elroy and Hugh Doherty were to strong on the day in Sundays Pauls Butchers Spring league Final as they became the 2015 winners with a comprehensive seven hole victory.
The match was evenly contested through the first seven holes then Gary Jackson & Eddie Mc Dermott won four holes in a row against Mark Doherty & Ciaran O’ Doherty and were eventually six holes up playing seventeen, in the other match which was proving a more evenly contested affair Gary Mc Elroy & Hugh Doherty were one hole up through sixteen on Michael Henry & Dermott Harkin, meaning team 13 were in an unassailable position seven holes up with four holes to play therefore both teams shook hands on a seven hole victory as team 13 became the 2015 Spring League Champions.
