Foyle Golf Club held their inaugural Senior & Junior Golf Store Europe Sponsored Scratch Cup on Sunday which was an outstanding success with 66 entries taking to the Ballyarnett course in the 36 hole event which attracted visitors from most of the North West Clubs and further afield, scoring was excellent even in the more difficult playing conditions in round 2, with Strabane member Conal Cooke posting a solid 73 in round 1 followed by a level par 71 in round 2 for a winning total of 144 to become the first name engraved on The Foyle Golf Club Scratch Cup.North West’s Kyle Mc Carron finished runner up with rounds of 71 & 75, Shane Mc Clean finishing third after rounds of 77 & 71.City of Derry member Cormac Mc Keone posted two fine rounds of 75 & 72 for a 147 winning total in the 5 – 9 Handicap Junior Category.
