The new competition season got underway at Foyle with the Pitchers sponsored St. Patricks Day Open and the 125 competitors who turned out had to contend with very strong winds making scoring difficult, but 11 handicapper David Knox made light of the stiff playing conditions to post an excellent winning score of 39pts, with his playing partner Stuart Gauld taking the runners up spot with 38pts, Hugh Doherty finished third with a very commendable 37pts.
