The Annual Total Golf 2 Day Open one of the premier competitions at Foyle once again attracted a large turnout with the 200 plus competitors enjoying fine conditions as they took to the Ballyarnett fairways hoping to secure their place in the overall prize final where a custom fit set of Irons were on offer for the winner and the scoring was of the highest order as seven booked their place in the final from Saturday with another five qualifying on Sunday
The twelve finalists took to the course on Wednesday to play for the three excellent prizes on offer and with stormy conditions scoring was made difficult but the experienced Immediate Foyle Past Captain Chris Lynch playing of seven relished the conditions to post a fine winning score of 38 points and take the coveted prize, twelve handicapper Sean Mc Bay finished second a further point adrift on 37 points, it took a three way 33 point break of tie to decide third which fell in favor of Michael Mullin.
